About Us

It’s been a little over a decade since we shut our original doors in Rochester, NY, but the dream never died. nook was founded on the principles of bringing beautiful objects to the masses. Marc wanted to support the designers who made their wares and those who supported others in having their goods made. This holds true today, with many items being GOTS certified and Care and Fair approved. If you have a question about where a product was made, please ask, we’ll have a lovely story and answer for you. We consider our vendors to be our friends and their story, is our story.

Marc and Rick are the owners of nook. They met in 2015, 4 years after the death of Marc’s longtime partner from cancer. They were married in 2018. Marc is a hospice nurse and Rick is an attorney. If we’re not in the shop, we’re either at a European music festival or traveling the globe looking for new products.
